The Central Costa Brava walking tour goes along the Mediterranean Sea up north from Sant Feliu de Guíxols to Empúries always with the sea on your right side. The Central Costa Brava hike will allow you to discover long beaches as well as small coves, towns and small villages. You will also hiking through history: Iberian, Greek and Roman settlements are spread all long the route. Our walking route includes nice hotels in the villages mostly near the sea, and you can also explore the country’s gastronomy.

Day 1. Arrival at Sant Feliu de Guíxols
Distance: Km ( no walking)
Arrival in Sant Feliu de Guíxols coastal town with port, promenade and beach. In the hotel we will welcome you and give all the information, map, etc… about the tour.
Day 2. From Sant Feliu de Guíxols to Palamós
Distance: 20 km.
Let’s start! Leaving Sant Feliu you will walk along the beach of S’Agaro. It will be a good start and you will follow the path until the city of Platja d’Aro and walk all along the seafront. Then, you will arrive at the promenade of Palamós Bay, and walk always next to the beach until the city of Palamòs.
Day 3. From Palamós to Llafranc/Calella de Palafrugell
Distance: 13 km.
Today you will be next to the sea nearly all the time. Walking through beaches like La Fosca or Castell you will realize how it is the real Costa Brava. An Iberian settlement on the top of a small mountain next to the sea will show you the site’s history. You will follow a path without any buidings until the beautifull villages of Llafranc and Calella de Palafrugell. Next to the sea in a astonishing landscape you will reach the destination.
Day 4. From Llafranc to Begur
Distance: 18 km.
Today the hiking has some little climbs. You will visit the lighthouse El Far de Sant Sebastià. Spectacular views. And also Tamariu, small fisherman’s village. There are some climbs because because you will enter a mountanous zone in the middle of the Costa Brava. It produces really hidden coves like Aiguablava, Aiguafreda or Sa Tuna, and you will visit all of them. Marvelous! Begur, a historical village will be the the end of today’s route.
Day 5. From Begur to L’Estarit/Torroella de Montgrí
Distance: 16 Km
You will start from Begur descending to Sa Riera, the last cove in this mountainous zone before entering in a completely different zone and landscape. The hike along Pals’ long beach until the Ter mouth is one of the best of the route. Crossing it you will reach L’Estartit, in front of the Medes Islands. Walking between the beach and the rice fields it’s a great experience.
Day 6. From L’Estartit/Torroella de Montgrí – St. Martí d’Empúries/L’Escala
Distance: 20 km.
You will walk to L’Escala city climbing a small mountain and you will finish the tour in a lovely promenade between L’Escala and the greek ruins of Empuries, next to the last hotel of your trip. Walking betwen the beach and the ancient roman and greek settlements will be one of the best experiences of the tour.
Day 7. Departure from Empúries /L’Escala
After walking to Sant Martí d’Empúries by the promenade, the tour will finish as well as it starts: in front of a lovely beach in the Mediterranean sea.
