DAY BY DAY
FIRST DAY: Arrival in València
Valencia’s most modern area, “la Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias” (City of Arts and Sciences), merges happily with its oldest area, the “Ciutat Vella” (Old City). In the Old City you’ll find a fascinating historic quarter, the cathedral, the central market, and a network of small streets and inviting squares which offer a great variety of cafes and restaurants where you can experience a multitude of local culinary specialities.
SECOND DAY: València – Sueca.
Turia gardens, a pleasant promenade where you’ll find museums, monuments and bridges dating from medieval times to the present day. You’ll come to the City of Arts and Sciences where you’ll say good bye to Valencia and continue towards the beach and the Albufera. Later on, you’ll arrive at the beautiful lookout of the Albufera Lake, where it’s said you can see the best sunsets. Finally you reach the most beautiful fishing town in the area, called “El Palmar”, where you’ll be able to try out exquisite local dishes and/or take a boat trip guided by local fishermen. El Palmar, is a town where you’ll have the opportunity to visit the Barracas, or typical Valencian houses. You’ll travel through the different landscapes of the Albufera. You’ll see great stretches of rice paddy which change colour according to the time of year and which are filled by the many different bird species that come here to fish in the network of irrigation channels.
THIRD DAY: Sueca – València
Today, for the last time, you’ll enter the Albufera Natural Park, one of the most valuable natural spaces in the Mediterranean. Here you can see different environments, for example, lakes, dunes, and pine forests that stretch as far as the sea shore. Each of these settings has its own unique fauna and flora. You’ll pass through many excellent places for observing birdlife (please see the brochure, “Parc Natural de l’Albufera”.) Along the way, you’ll pass El Saler, a town where you’ll have the opportunity to visit the Barracas, or typical Valencian houses. Finally, you’ll arrive in the city of Valencia, where you can relish its old quarter, towers, parks, terraces, cafes and the great atmosphere in its streets.
FOURTH DAY: València
After a good breakfast, the trip will be formally over.
